Located in the Îlot Balmoral in the heart of the Quartier des Spectacles, the new head office of the National Film Board continues to promote the 7th art by having a greater openness to the public. Our mandate spanned several stages. We retrofitted the main Stop Motion recording studios with a motorized rigging grid system, giving operators greater flexibility in using their lighting and video equipment. These double grids have the particularity of having removable lower pipes, allowing the user to adapt the hanging surface according to the equipment being suspended. We equipped the small animation studios with a system of fixed hanging grids and mobile pipes, just like for the hairpin studio. For the ONF Space, a central point on the ground floor, we equipped this place with easily controlled motorized battens equipped with all the services to hang and connect the studio lighting. These battens are integrated into the architectural ceiling while remaining visible, so that the public can understand and visualize what studio equipment is. The result allows the NFB to offer production, creation and animation studios, in addition to exhibition spaces. The Go multimedia team is proud to have been able to associate itself with this red-striped building!
